Dining With Your Dog: Brooklyn Heights

diningwithdog.pngDid your dog just invite you out to dinner?   Now that New York State officially allows pets in outdoor dining areas you have a lot of choices.

If you live in or close to Brooklyn Heights, we've rounded up some of these eateries in the Brooklyn Heights area just for you and your best friend.

Brooklyn-Heights Deli

This deli is located at 292 Henry Street and serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week.  They offer an assortment of bagels, rolls, muffins, croissants, and Danish for breakfast.  Lunch comes in the form of lots of different sandwiches and a handful of salads.  They also offer a more than decent selection of drinks and chips to go with your meal.

BHD has lovely umbrella shaded tables where you and pup are welcome to dine.

Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

This dessert place at the corner of Old Fulton and Water Street has a great deck that overlooks the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge.  What a perfect place to enjoy an ice cream treat!  Their house-made ice cream comes in just eight flavors, but we'll forgive them for that because any more and we couldn't choose!

Beware: Your pup may demand his own cone!

Heights Café

This stylish café at 84 Montague St. offers an extensive selection of New American cuisine choices for brunch, lunch, or dinner.  Only a block from the Brooklyn Promenade, this is a perfect place to relax and enjoy refreshments while you watch the bustling activity on Montague Street.

Your well-behaved pet is welcome to join in the people-watching from the sidewalk or the rooftop deck.

Tutt Café

(718) 722-7777

Visit the Tutt Café at 47 Hicks St. for delicious, authentic Middle Eastern food like falafel balls, babaghanouj, and tabouleh.  Wash everything down with the Middle Eastern citrus drinks called loomi or their refreshing iced mint tea. For dessert, how about baklava with Turkish coffee?

Your dog is welcome to join you at the outdoor seating.

Remember: Always keep your well-behaved, socialized dog on a leash and with you at all times. It's best to call ahead, too, since doggie welcomes can change.
