Christmas and New Year's Fees, Hours, and Deadlines

We go to great lengths to be sure that we have staff on hand to give your pet all the love and care that they need. During these holidays, we like to be sure the staff that have signed up to work still have time to celebrate with friends and family that are local. Therefore, we alter our hours a bit on these days, please see below for our special Holiday Hours.

The scheduling team works very hard to be sure we have just the right number of Care Associates working so that as many people as possible can travel back home to be with family and friends.  Those that are staying on are so looking forward to caring for your fur-babies and sharing in some holiday cheer with them!  We do, however, have a different cancellation policy through these major holidays. This ensures that our team is compensated for making themselves available for you.  So, please be sure to see the important cancellation deadlines below to avoid any fees. 

 

Holiday Fees in Effect

Christmas: Saturday 12/22 - Wednesday, 12/26

New Year's: Saturday 12/29 - Tuesday, 1/1

 

Holiday Hours*

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: Last walk of the day will be the 4pm window

New Year's Eve: Last walk of the day will be the 4pm window

New Year's Day: First visit of the day will be the 12pm window

*Pet's who required timed medication will, of course, be accommodated outside of those windows.

 

Booking and Cancellation Deadlines

Christmas: The last day to book or cancel without a fee is Tuesday, December 18th at 6 PM.  Thereafter, a Late Booking fee will be added to your service and confirmation will be based on availability.  Cancellations after this date will be charged in full

New Year's: The last day to book or cancel without a fee is Tuesday December 25th at 6 PMThereafter, a Late Booking fee will be added to your service and confirmation will be based on availability.  Cancellations after this date will be charged in full

Reminders

Dog walks: Will be completed in a 2 hour window (i.e.12p walks are in the 12p-2p window etc).

Cat Sits: Will be completed in a 4 hour window unless there is timed medication that needs to be administered. 

Weekend care: Please request no later than Thursday at 12PM for care on Saturday and Sunday.

Same Day Requests: If you need same-day service, please make the request via your client portal and ALSO email schedule@bklynbark.com to alert us to your request.

 


  Surcharges

  • Weekends: $8 fee for visits booked Saturday and/ or Sunday
  • Off-Hours: $8 fee for visits booked before 10am or after 6pm (subject to availability)
  • Medication: $8 fee for advanced medication (including injections); No charge for meds given with food.
  • Additional Dog: 50% of base service fee for each additional dog; No additional charge for multiple cats.
  • Major Holidays: $12 fee for major holidays and the weekends that immediately proceed or follow them.. These include Memorial Day, Independence Day (2018: July 2, 3, 4 are holiday), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, Day after Christmas(12/26), New Years Eve/Day. Please book in advance if you need holiday service.
  • Minor Holidays: $8 fee for minor holidays and holiday weekends (days banks and schools are closed). These include Martin Luther King Jr, Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day.
  • Solo Walk: $8 fee for guaranteed solo walk.
  • Pet Transportation: $12 fee for pick up and or drop off for boarding service. 
  • Last Minute Booking: $10 fee for appointments booked after 6pm the business day prior to the service.
  • Cancellation: $10 fee for services canceled the same day after 10am
