A Safer Alternative

Kennels can be scary for some, too cramped for others, or a risk to your pet's health. That's why Brooklyn Bark has designed in-home, no-kennel overnight care options. Go ahead. Take that big trip! We've got your tail!

Our Sleepovers and Boardings work much like a hotel stay. "Check-in" time is 6 pm. Although later "check-out" times can be arranged, the default time is 10 a.m. If you've booked a series of back-to-back overnights, your assigned Care Associate will return to their home or yours for the included afternoon walk before leaving to finish their daily route or errands. They will then return at 6 p.m. to "check-in" to the next Overnight in your series. Three 30-min walks are included in each Overnight package you schedule; Evening, Morning and Afternoon. You can opt out of the walks if you pet doesn't need them, but they're included free of charge by default. If you need to extend the first or last day of the visit we can add additional walks to either end to cover your travel departure or arrival. Ask us about our options for Extended Care!

Sleepovers keep your pet in a familiar environment and out of kennel (unless they need one!)  while a Brooklyn Bark Care Associate stays at with them at your home. Your pet experiences minimal change while enjoying a staycation that is all about security and routine.

Our Boarding service allows your pet to stay overnight (or several) at the home of a Brooklyn Bark Care Associate. Boardings are identical to Sleepovers except for the location. Your pet will enjoy exploring a new environment, perhaps one with other pets, while still being safe, secure, and on a  regular schedule!

For Who:

Sleepovers are ideal for any pet, but are especially great for pets that don't do well in new environments or are finicky about being transported. Sleepovers allow for them to stay in their own homes. Even if your pet loves new experiences, Sleepovers will provide them with a great opportunity to focus on bonding with a new person.

What We Need:

Before Brooklyn Bark's Scheduling Team books you out for a Sleepover we will ask for some basic travel, routine, and home info! We want to know your travel schedule so that we can provide you with the exact care needed without overstaying our welcome! Home information will usually include where our Care Associate will be allowed to sleep, if they're allowed to use your appliances, etc. This allows our Care Associates to make informed choices about providing care!

What You'll Get:

Our  Care Associate will arrive between 6-7pm the day your Sleepover begins. They will spend the same amount of time with your pet as you would expect to spend with them if you were home. This means our Care Associates are allowed to leave for errands or personal outings within reasons. We offer a live-in option if your pet cannot be alone for longer than one to three hours.

You will get a report when the assigned Care Associate scans in to to begin the overnight. Sleepovers include three walks plus feedings. At the end of each walk you will get additional appointment reports. These reports include brief but detailed info about how your pet is doing plus photos!

Our Care Associates are also more than happy to send you additional updates about your pet if you need them. We know that it can be hard to be away from your Best Fur-iend.

Along with the peace of mind that comes with  real-time updates about your pet, Brooklyn Bark's Care Associates are fully bonded and insured which means your home, belongings, and pet are covered.

For Who:

Boardings are best for pets that are happy wherever there are humans and are down for new experiences. It is not required that your pet be good with other animals as we offer solo boarding options for an additional fee. Unless your pet needs one, a kennel will not be used. Your pet gets to enjoy our Care Associates home as if it was there own!

What We Need:

Before Brooklyn Bark's Scheduling Team books out your Boarding we will ask for some travel, routine, and behavior info. We want to ensure we return your pet home at the correct time and keep them on their regular schedule. Please let us know if your dog is/isn't house trained, might chew on the couch, or howls for 15 minutes when left alone. Brooklyn Bark is a judgement free zone! Setting your pet up for success means matching them with a Care Associate who has the best home environment for their needs!

What You'll Get:

Boardings work exactly the same as Sleepovers. Our Care Associate will begin your appointment at 6 pm after your pet arrives at their home. Unless you've booked a Live-In service, our Care Associate will be free to live their life, but will be with your pet throughout the evening.

You will get a report when the assigned Care Associate scans in to begin the overnight. Sleepovers include three walks plus feedings. At the end of each walk you will get additional appointment reports. These reports include brief but detailed info about how your pet is doing plus photos!

Although most pets who Board are totally fine, surprise separation anxiety can manifest and change the course of a  Boarding. Brooklyn Bark will work with you and our Care Associates to find an alternative solution that prioritizes everyone's needs and keeps your trip on track!

Service Add-Ons

Live-In, Near Constant Care

If your Overnight Package is for a pet that cannot be left alone for more than a few hours at a time, you will want to inquire about the "live-in" add-on. This add-on allows us to book a Care Associate who will not leave for a route or secondary job. Brief 30 minute errands are allowed to Care Associates completing live-in services so that they can pick up food and provisions as necessary.

Transportation to Boardings

We offer transportation to and from boardings for clients that do not have a car or time to transport their pet themselves. Often times we use Uber or Lyft's to transport the pets. The fee for this service covers the cost of transportation as well as the assigned Care Associate's time.

Solo-Only Boarding for Dogs

If you book a Boarding Package for a dog that cannot be with other dogs, we will match you with a Care Associate who does not have any. Your dog's  needs will come first. As such, the Care Associate will not accept other Boardings during your dog's stay and you will see an additional fee on your invoice. This fee compensates the Care Associate for the limited workload. If you'd like to avoid this fee we recommend booking a Sleepover  Package for solo dog's instead.

Additional Dog/Pet

For families requesting any service for more than one pet, a fee equal to 50% of the base price will be added for each additional, serviced animal. If you have more than one pet but we are only providing care to one animal, there is no additional fee.

Medication

Our care associates are trained to administer pills, SubQ, and insulin. There is an additional $8 added for liquid oral medication and thyroid cream. It is an additional $12 for injections such as insulin or subcutaneous fluids. There is no added charge for pills that can be left in food.
