How to Say "I Love You"

Valentine's Day is Sunday.

It's a beautiful time to express your love to your special someone - person, pup or kitty.

Chocolates? Flowers?

Those are great for the human love of your life. But chocolate is toxic to dogs and of no interests to cats. Flowers? Your kitty might consider them the next best thing to Cesar salad but a few pieces of lettuce could do the trick a lot cheaper.

Have you considered baking for your furry love? Nothin' says lovin' like something from the oven. You know that. And so does your fur baby.

So, our Valentine's gift to you, dear reader, is a simple treat recipe that you can mix up and clean up in under 10 minutes total. Add 12 minutes of baking time and you have a Valentine's gift for your kitty or pup in under half an hour, start to finish.

Barker Valentine Treats for your pup, kitty or both

1 can tuna fish in water (5-oz)

1 egg

1 cup uncooked instant oats

1/4 cup ketchup

Preheat oven to 450 degreess. Put tuna fish and water it is packed in into a bowl, Break up with a fork. Add egg, oats and ketchup. Mix well. Drop by small teaspoons full onto a cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes.

Cool, serve to kitty or pup. Store remainder in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Keeps up to 1 week (if you pet allows it). Yield 5 dozen.

Ignore those adds that tell you to "Say it with flowers." When it comes to your kitty or pup, we advise to "Say it with treats."
