They're Tough; They Need Help

Out on Long Beach Island there is a group of heavily tattooed motorcycle riders who work to combat animal cruelty and rescue animals in need.

You may remember the reality TV series on National Geographic Channel back in 2009 about Joe Panz, Big Ant, Johnny O, Eric, G, Angel, Junior, Robert and Batso. Not surprising for bikers they use very in-your-face methods when they fight animal cruelty and when they rescue its victims.

They operate under the name "Rescue Ink." Unfortunately, even tough bikers with hearts of gold are not spared the ravages of a hurricane and their facility took a serious hit from Sandy's wrath. As we would fully expect, they protected every single one of their animals placing them in temorary foster homes.

Their facility and its contents took a severe hit. While the building withstood Sandy's ravages intact, they lost all the contents - computers, supplies, food, meds - and have a major clean-up and sanitizing project facing them.

Rescue Ink is looking for donations in kind and for financial donations. If you have anything from computers to towels to crates you can spare, contact tracy@rescueink.org.

If you can make a financial donation, go to Rescue Ink Donations Feel free to donate even though they passed their very modest goal because not only does everything cost more than you estimate but they will be using any extra funds to save more animals.

Brooklyn Bark dog walkers and pet sitters salutes Rescue Ink, their work and all those who help them!
